BARRY KEEFE

Assistant Deputy Superintendent Keefe began his career with the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer in 1995. Due to his consistent and exemplary performance, he worked his way up through the ranks becoming Sergeant in 2003, Lieutenant in 2012, and Captain in March of 2015. 

In October of 2015, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Superintendent II of Operations.  In his role as ADS II, he works on the day to day security and staffing issues and supervises over 200 uniformed staff members.  Deputy Keefe is involved with the weekly facility inspections, audits, and oversees other departments of the NSO.  

ADS Keefe was instrumental in the start-up of the Employees Assistance Program and the Peer Leadership Program.  He continues to sit on the Board for these initiatives and is a mentor to staff of all ranks.

Deputy Keefe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Norwich University and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Vermont College.
