Assistant Superintendent/Operations

David Reilly has over 30 years of experience in corrections and has served in many positions at the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office since June of 1984.  He began his career as a Correction Officer and worked his way up through the ranks. 

In his role as Assistant Superintendent, he supervises all uniformed security personnel, Support Services Departments including the kitchen, maintenance and receiving, the fleet services division, and the Environmental Health and Safety efforts of the NSO. 

Assistant Superintendent Reilly oversees the daily operation of the facility and serves as a liaison to other Sheriff’s office, the District Attorney’s office, state and local law enforcement agencies and the courts.  

Assistant Superintendent Reilly recently received the FBI Leeda Trilogy Award for completing the Supervisor’s Leadership, Command Leadership, and Executive Leadership trainings.
