Peggy Hughes has been employed by the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office for 28 years with prior years of experience working for the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.  Peggy began her career with the NSO working as a Caseworker and Policy Coordinator prior to being promoted to Accreditation Manager.   As the Accreditation Manager, she is
responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal mandated regulations and coordinating audits conducted by the Department of Correction, American Correctional Association, Department of Public Health, Prison Rape Elimination Act and
National Commission on Correctional Health Care for the facility.  
The NSO has maintained dual accreditations by the NCCHC
and the ACA.

Peggy has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.  She has been appointed as a PREA compliance manager for NSO and is a member of the American Correctional Association.
